With the encouragement of my family, I've decided to post some of my images to this blog on a semi-regular basis, along with a short description. My mum is a big fan of what she calls "cam sites" but which I would probably describe "photo journals". I think it's probably not a bad idea, since it lets me put my own words to my images, promotes my photos somewhat, and gives others the chance to comment on them. So here we are, my first photo journal entry.
Naomi and I went for a long-overdue visit to my Aunt and Uncle's today. As is often the case I had my camera gear with me, and Bev and John were only too keen to show off the wonderful birdlife they have coaxed into their backyard with various bird feeders, waterers and baths. These Rainbow Lorikeets are the most numerous, and certainly most colourful of the miltitude of avian wildlife present. Underneath the picture below is a link to the full gallery of the best images I took today. I hope you like them!

Beautiful!...I always love the color in your pictures. Are you using any filters or are your camera and "eye for the scene" just that good?
All my photos need to be processed when they come out of the camera. Usually this involves adjusting the white balance, tweaking the exposure and contrast, and boosting the saturation a bit. I do, however, try to keep the photos close to the appearance in real life, but with a little bit extra saturation. I like colourful images :)
Thanks for your comment!
Thanks! I was wondering how to tweak up the color a bit on mine...I'll try that saturation trick.
